Universal Wildfire Tools & Tactics

The Finest Wildfire Tools in the World

About the Individual Tool Components
Magnum Pulaski

FOREVER, MAGNUM PULASKI. . . $139 . . . just under 3 lbs. There is something drastically wrong with having 30,000 Americans bent over trying to dig line with a 3 inch grub-hoe on the end of a 34 inch handle. So we built a better Pulaski - designed to last an entire career. It's a better balanced, wider grub hoe - 5.5", 2.9 lbs. - longer and detachable from its Universal Handle. This tool is best used as a secondary option. For all wildfire areas, we have a better PRIMARY tool head option, designed to get fire fighters upright, comfortable, more productive and safer. The Troop Tool, the Dragon Hoe or the Dragon Swatter are all designed to be primary tools in different fuels and conditions. But always carry the Maggie. It comes with two stainless screws to attach our tool heads to a green sapling at the fire if the universal handle is lost or unavailable. Blades are also replaceable if they wear down.

Bonnie Hammer

BONNIE HAMMER. . . $139 . . . just under 3 lbs. This is a Magnum Pulaski where the axe blade is cut off and a perpendicular bar is welded in its place to drive felling wedges. The BLM Bonnieville Hot Shots came up with this tool for their swampers
Swampers are people who help the chain saw users. The theory is they can scrape line and grub brush when not pulling brush and driving felling wedges.

Firefighter using Dragonswatter Tool Dragonswatter Tool

DRAGON SWATTER. . . $139 . . . 3 lbs. This is a 7 foot long beating device for tough-turfed grasslands, like tundra, taiga, dry swamps, sage areas or anyplace where it is difficult to easily scrape down to mineral soil. This is light and comfortable to use. The fire fighter's face is a long way from the flames, and his back is upright. Soft and ergonomic, this tool is a pleasure to use. A great prescribed fire herding tool.

Dragon Swatter Heads come in two options: A 2 foot long nylon rod and 2 foot long conveyor belt straps best for rock and brush temperate grasslands and a 4 foot long rod with a foot square long pad best for arctic taiga and tundra / irregular ground and dry swamps in tropics. However both work well anywhere.
